WARNER MUSIC
During my seven years as Head of Catalogue at Warner Music, I found Quite Great PR to be one of the best independent PR companies in the country for catalogue promotion.
Over this time they worked on catalogue releases covering Classic Rock, Country , Soul, R&B, Singer Songwriters, Pop and Dance. They also ran box set campaigns, all planned and overseen by Pete Basset.
Basset personally ran the campaign for the Faces box set ‘Five Guys Walk Into A Bar…’ and, when your press day involves a current member of the Rolling Stones and an ex member of the Who, it’s good to know you are in safe hands.
Quite Great PR also ran excellent and comprehensive PR campaigns for such classic rock acts as Fleetwood Mac, The Doors, Hall & Oates, The Doobie Brothers, Faith No More and the Darkness.
When Warner Music launched their budget label series The Platinum Collection, Quite Great devised PR campaigns for several genres:
The Soul series, covering such hugely famous heritage soul artists as Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding, Percy Sledge, Ray Charles, Booker T & The MG’s and Soloman Burke, to name but a few.
The Country Music series, where Quite Great launched releases from, among many others, country legends like Emmylou Harris, Dwight Yoakam, Randy Travis, Carlene Carter and Willie Nelson, alongside more rootsy acts like Los Lobos.
Singer songwriter releases that Quite Great PR’d for Warner Music include music heroes such as Guy Clarke and Luka Bloom. They have also handled Irish acts from the Pogues and Moving Hearts to Christy Hennessy and Mary Coughlan
The Pop/Dance series involved campaigns for hit acts The Happy Mondays, Orbital, Shakespears Sister, Fine Young Cannibals, Modern romance, East 17, Everything But The Girl, Suggs, D:Ream, Brand New Heavies, De La Soul and En Vogue. The list goes on.
I found Quite Great to be informed, informative, connected, totally up to date with current trends in the music industry and very easy to work with.
In recent times Pete Basset and Quite Great have worked on several independent music projects that I have been involved in, running campaigns covering every aspect of an independent release, equally at home with sorting distribution and publishing situations as they are getting big stories away.

Kelly Erez
"Quite Great have shown a great depth of understanding of what is required when breaking an artist. Their response to our brief was to the point, bang on brief and showed a deep level of understanding of what we needed. Quite Great demonstrated against all the other agency pitches that they have the chops to get the job done, on time and on budget. Our brief was not strictly black and white and Quite Great showed great flexibility in helping us meet our objective." - Harvey Lee, manager of Kelly Erez
Gary Stocker, China Soul manager and MD of As Music Ltd.
"Whenever someone asks us to recommend a PR company to handle their artists’ online and offline promotions, we always direct them to Quite Great! Quite Great, unlike many of the other PR companies which we have worked with in the past, really understand the need to adopt a creative approach towards breaking a new artist. With Pete Bassett (MD) and his team at the helm of your campaign, expect results; you will NOT be disappointed."
